Museums and Palaces

Besides its obvious architectural interest, this house-museum contains the valuable art collections of the Portuguese scientist and collector, Professor Egas Moniz (1874-1955): furniture, porcelain, faience and glassware, 19th and 20th centuries Portuguese painting, engravings, sculpture, goldsmith`s art and tapestry.

Also of great interest are the scientific objects and documents used in the medical research which earned Egas Moniz the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1949.
