Capela de Santo Amaro
Capela de Santo Amaro
Monuments
An inscription on the main door shows the year when the Igreja or Capela de Santo Amaro was built: 1549.
Artistically, it belongs to the Renaissance style and is well worth a visit. It consists of two distinct spaces, the entrance porch or arcade with polygonal bays and the circular church, as well as the chancel.
Mention should be made of the polychrome azulejos that were placed on the walls of the porch in the late 16th/early 17th century and in the church’s interior during the 18th century.
