Museums and Palaces
The Aljezur Municipal Museum is housed in a 19th-century building that used to house the town hall. It has three distinct sections: archaeological, ethnographic and Islamic.
Given the importance that the Islamic presence had in the creation of the town of Aljezur and in its culture, the Museum dedicates a special exhibition area to it - the Andalusian Legacy Room, which includes collections from the Islamic period that have been collected in archaeological excavations carried out in various parts of the municipality.
The visit to the museum can be complemented with the Historic-Cultural and Environmental Circuit of the municipality of Aljezur, a 5.5 km footpath that covers the historical part of the town of Aljezur and the surrounding area, outside the urban centre, and which has audio guides to help interpret and guide the route.
