Wool - Covilhã Urban Art Festival
Featured Event
Inspired by the mountains of Serra da Estrela and wool, the Wool is an urban art festival that in June will be filling the streets of the historic centre of Covilhã with animation.
The Wool programme includes more than 40 initiatives from several areas, namely Mural Painting, Artistic Residencies, Exhibitions, a Music Film, Guided Tours, Community Actions, among other activities.
Started in 2001, the Wool was the first event of these type in the interior of the country and in its various editions it has left a remarkable set of interventions spread, mainly in the historic area of the city. With the aim of revitalizing degraded areas and promoting forgotten spaces, the Urban Art route is a true open-air "museum" where homage is paid to Covilhã's glorious past as one of the most important wool production centres in the country.
