Fortaleza de Juromenha
Monuments
The bulwarked fortifications built during the War of Restoration, enclosing the Fortress of Juromenha, moved the nation’s line of defence much closer to the River Guadiana, a natural border between Portugal and Spain.
The surviving remnants of the Fortress include ruins of the former Chamber and Senate House.
