Curtas Vila do Conde - International Film Festival, which had its first edition in 1993, is dedicated particularly to national and international competition of short films.

The Festival presents every year a panorama of the most pungent national and international contemporary cinema, including fictions, animations and documentaries and gathers a series of non-competitive programs, including retrospectives, special events such as films and concert performances, and various activities especially dedicated to the younger ones. During the Festival talks with authors, workshops and masterclasses are organized. In the festival takes place the “Mercado da Curta Metragem” (Short Film Market) a place for buyers (televisions, distributors and exhibitors) and representatives of short films festivals.
