Events
The exhibition "Amadora, First Municipality of April" is on display at the Casal da Falagueira Museum Centre, as part of the commemoration program of the 50th Anniversary of the 25th of April of the Municipality of Amadora. This exhibition illustrates the development of the territory and the population before and after the 25th of April, until its formation as a city.
Joana Dias Pereira and Gil Gonçalves are the scientific curators and authors of the texts in this exhibition, which illustrates the different expressions of resistance to the dictatorship and its repression. It also recalls the social and political mobilization that marked the revolutionary period and how the aspiration to elevate Amadora to municipality, at this juncture, materialized in a broad process of popular participation.
