The Whaling Industry Museum, in São Roque do Pico, has the painting exhibition "The Place of the Lighthouses", by António José Ervedeiro, which will be present until December 31, 2024, aiming to raise awareness among European citizens of the value of the common heritage and the need to preserve it for current and future generations.

The artist has always felt lighthouses as attraction, beauty and grandeur, buildings that rise, majestic, in the landscape they guard. Condemned to ignorance, in an era of georeference, António José Ervedeiro challenges the public to remember them through this collection of gouache and watercolor paintings.
