This exhibition is an essay, an open dialogue with the pre-Columbian artifacts in the CIAJG collection. The 33 objects come from the Inca, Chimú, Chancay, Moche, Aztec, Nicoya, Misteca, Talamameque, Nayarit cultures, which occupied part of the territory of Central and South America, and which belong to a chronological period between 500 BC and 1532 AD, approximately.
The installation, unfolded in two rooms, evokes a spatial and chromatic thought that recovers manual traditions of a time that no longer exists. The artist develops her work from the cultural, historical and political narratives associated with the processes of making, exploring notions of identity, memory and collective representation, botanical diaspora and otherness.
