Between the 4th and 6th of April 2025, the beautiful Algarve city of Alcoutim hosts the Smuggling Festival, with lots of music and entertainment.

Alcoutim is a border town, with only the river separating it from Spain, and, in fact, border areas have always been conducive to stories of smuggling. From this intangible cultural heritage, it is proposed to recreate a rural market from the beginning of the twentieth century, giving it a contemporary "look" through the arts. Street theatre, music and cinema are ingredients of this festival, which transports the audience on a journey to the last century combined with a showcase of contemporary regional dynamics.
