Póvoa de Lanhoso hosts another edition of the city's festivities, the Festas de São José, between the 14th and 23rd of March. With a secular tradition, these festivals date back to 1895, still maintaining some traditional aspects of this festival, such as the livestock contest and the presence of philharmonics.

In addition to the popular tradition, the Festivities of São José also have a strong religious aspect, with emphasis on the moment of the majestic procession in honor of São José. Being a showcase of the work and activities of the people of the Lands of Lanhoso, here you can get to know the handicrafts and taste the local cuisine.
