Celebrated in Loulé, in the Algarve, for about five centuries this is one of the most popular festivals in the city and the largest religious manifestation of the Marian cult south of Fatima.

The celebration takes place at two different times: on Easter Sunday (Small Festival) and fifteen days later (Large Festival). The Large Festival is the highlight of the event. Full of traditions, the procession is a unique expression of faith. The image of the Virgin, the grandeur of the men who carry the float, the enveloping melody and the crowd of devotees who follow the procession make up a grandiose, unique and indescribable spectacle.
