Jorge Jácome: Something from Another World

Jorge Jácome: Something from Another World
Events
Jorge Jácome (Viana do Castelo, 1988) investigates the relationships between utopia, melancholy, disappearance and desire. His innovative approach, marked by unexpected relationships and unusual encounters, invites to introspection and fantasy. He has been exploring ways of representing reality, almost always in search of something that relates to his own reality. For Jácome, cinema has the power to make things real that we don't have access to, in the sense that everything we see and hear can be something else.
This is his first solo presentation in an institutional museum context, for which the artist has produced a series of new works over the last year, video installations specially conceived for this moment. The exhibition will also feature an important parallel program in the Serralves auditorium, where, over the next few months, visitors will be invited to discover the author's main films.
