The parish of São Bartolomeu do Mar, in the municipality of Esposende, is promoting the São Bartolomeu do Mar Festivities, with the Holy Bath and other festivities between August 15 and 24.

This traditional pilgrimage begins with the preparatory novenas, the main days of which are between August 22 and 24. It is on the 24th, the day of the patron saint São Bartolomeu, that a large number of devotees flock to the parish to fulfill the tradition of the Holy Bath, a ritual that is unique in the country and the world. In addition to the religious ceremonies, various artists and bands perform.
