He has been an internationally recognized artist since the early 1990s. With works that question and subvert the limits of contemporary value systems, this retrospective brings together a selection of works strongly rooted in history, which reflect Cattelan's approach to art. In addition to the pieces on display, sculptures by the artist will be installed at various points in the park. These scenarios offer a unique setting, both for the artist's work and for the Park and Casa de Serralves itself.

Most of the works selected demonstrate the artist's interest in history: changes, traumas and historical icons. Transitional periods seem to fascinate the artist.
