The Jazz ao Centro Festival returns to Coimbra in October for another edition. For five days, the city will host 12 concerts and numerous initiatives.

Highlights of the 2025 edition include the premiere of "Cantomilo", the first album by Estela Alexandre, the Brainteaser PT Ensemble, directed by the Dutchman Tjin Wybenga and the network of national partnerships, with collaborations with Seixal Jazz, Outono em Jazz and Teatro do Bairro Alto, which will bring to Coimbra projects such as the quartet of trumpeter Yazz Ahmed, the meeting of Luís Vicente, John Dikeman, John Edwards and Hamid Drake, and the trio formed by Sakina Abdou, Marta Warelis and Toma Gouband. The program also includes an artistic residency with the Rondo Project, in collaboration with Portuguese-Catalan percussionist Vasco Trilla. The musician will extend his visit to Coimbra to perform in a duo with Coimbra guitarist Marcelo dos Reis, in a concert that will close the festival.
