The musical project of Ancient and Contemporary Music "Sete Lágrimas" is dedicated to the dialog between these two types of music, as well as between classical music and secular traditions.

The group brings together musicians from different musical backgrounds around conceptual projects animated by original musicological research, but also by processes of innovation and creativity around the sounds, instruments and memories of Ancient Music. They combine classical and popular music, Ancient and Contemporary Music and also link the secular Portuguese diaspora of the Discoveries and the Latin-Mediterranean axis, converting them into sound through the faithful interpretation of the performance canons of Ancient Music and an approach to defining elements of world music.
