In November, in the beautiful town of Marvão, the queen of the festival is the chestnut, one of the most popular fall products in Portugal.

Street entertainment, magustos with the typical roasted chestnuts, local wine and lots of typical Portuguese craft stalls are all part of this festival taking place in the Alentejo town. In terms of gastronomy, you'll also find sausages and cheeses, countless delicacies made with chestnuts, such as jams, liqueurs and homemade sweets. The Chestnut Festival and Chestnut Fair are the perfect excuse for a weekend of festivities.
