Floris Vanhoof: Antenna / Talking gongs
Events
Antwerp-based Belgian artist Floris Vanhoof works with self-built electronic circuits and obsolete technologies to create installations that combine sound and image in an innovative way.
In Antenna (2022), he uses a piano transformed into a resonator for electromagnetic waves, picked up by a self-made antenna tuned to multiple frequencies and translated into sound vibrations. In this way, invisible phenomena become an audible experience. In Talking Gongs (2018), two gongs suspended in trees respond to electronic signals, simulating a dialog between themselves and the surrounding landscape, integrating natural and technological elements into the same sensory universe.
