This numismatic exhibition presents pieces from private collections and some specimens from the Municipal Museum's collection, with the aim of showing a little of the history of coins, particularly Portuguese coins, going back to the pre-nationality period.

Here you can see coins from the Greek, Roman and Byzantine civilizations, as well as specimens from the various dynasties of the Portuguese monarchy, including the period of the Republic, with an emphasis on the paper money issued by the Municipality of Azambuja in the second decade of the 20th century. In total, there are more than two thousand years of history, which provide an insight into the evolution of money over the centuries.
