Chronicles of an unknown Lisbon
Chronicles of an unknown Lisbon
Events
This exhibition offers a journey through spaces, times and inhabitants of Lisbon that are less known to the public, through almost a hundred works in reserve at the Museum of Lisbon.
The pieces on display are of exceptional quality, which for various reasons have been kept out of the public eye. Some have never been shown and others have been restored to show a less obvious Lisbon. The route of the exhibition begins at Terreiro do Paço, where the aeronautical feat performed by an Italian captain in 1794 is remembered, and ends at Campo das Cebolas, with Amália Rodrigues. In between, it passes through the first illegal neighborhood and the first Popular Fair, introducing a bomber who shook up the early years of the Republic and a poet and human rights activist.
