In 2022, the temporary exhibition Ato (DES)colonial questioned Portugal's colonial heritage and highlighted the experiences of anti-colonial resistance, which were fundamental to independence and the end of fascism in Portugal. This year, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of independence, the focus is on the archives of the Aljube Museum, whose collections have been described, digitized and made available online since 2021. "Before it was independence, it was a liberation struggle" emerges from this documentary research, stimulating reflection and anti-colonial, anti-racist and abolitionist action, confronting all forms of violence.
