"Adilson", an opera in five acts directed by Dino D'Santiago, with a libretto by Rui Catalão and musical direction by Martim Sousa Tavares, opens in Porto in a co-production with Coliseu Porto Ageas. The play follows the life of a man of African descent, born in Angola to Cape Verdean parents, who has lived in Portugal for over 40 years without citizenship. Between fragmented identities and endless bureaucratic processes, the opera reveals the struggle of those who remain invisible in the country they call home. Addressing injustice, discrimination and hope, "Adilson" transforms waiting into poetry and affirms a powerful gesture of resistance.
