Events
Among masks, festive rhythms and comic episodes, the Porto Casa da Música Symphony Orchestra marks Carnival with a vibrant program, bringing together famous works from the orchestral repertoire and traditional dances from various countries.
From the enchanting atmosphere of a Venetian night recreated by Johann Strauss II to the lively wedding of the famous dance master Luis Alonso, narrated in Giménez's well-known zarzuela, stories of intrigue, romance and humor emerge.
The musical journey also evokes the popular spirit of Slavic and Transylvanian dances, crosses Spanish landscapes and ends in a village in Trás-os-Montes, to the sound of a dance from the emblematic ballet composed by Frederico de Freitas for the Verde Gaio company.
